Data Acquisition

Overview
We will utilize any piece of equipment the customer requires, from analog or digital recording devices to strip charts; oscilloscopes to spectrum analyzers. We are current on the state-of-the-art application needs, and if the customer requires a specific type or piece of equipment, not only will we supply it, but also operate it, as well as train others to do the same. We also create LabVIEW™ applications customized to the customer’s application needs, which allows for quick and easy on-site modification of data acquisition methods and parameters. Since these applications are PC-based, data can be digitized and presented to the customer in electronic format on CD-ROM during testing, and/or transmitted via e-mail to off-site engineers for review.

Aerodyn Engineering Inc (AEI) is meticulous about data acquisition
AEI understands how expensive field tests can be, and how important it is to the customer to obtain precise data. Often, test conditions are so harsh that instrumentation and even the test component itself will not survive (i.e. destructive testing). Decisions based on the data affect product design, cost, reliability, and ultimately, safety of the end-user. Therefore we know that it is imperative to acquire good, precise data every time.

AEI performs data reduction on-site
On-site reduction of data allows the customer to make decisions based on progressive results during the test. This makes the test more efficient by reducing the number of unnecessary and costly test points. It also allows the customer to explore unforeseen test points before the test is completed, reducing the possibility of additional testing later.

AEI will perform data reduction post-test
AEI remains on-site for as long as needed to reduce and prepare all data the customer requires. We also reduce data in-house, or at the customer’s facility as needed. In addition, we create custom LabVIEW™ applications to assist in data reduction to a customer-preferred format, or use off-the-shelf or customer-provided means of data reduction. AEI provides on-going post-test customer support, and can provide a data backup archive for an undetermined period of time after the test is completed.
